Accepting these terms
By opening this website or using the downloader, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
If you use the site on behalf of someone else, such as a child in your care, you are responsible for making sure that use follows these terms too.
What the YouTube to MP4 tool does
YouTube to MP4 is a free online tool. You paste a link to a YouTube video, and the tool looks it up live and shows its title, length and the available formats. You can choose an MP4 video quality from 144p up to 1080p, each with sound, or an MP3 audio file at 320, 256, 192, 128 or 64 kbps.
When you tap a quality, the file opens in a new browser tab directly from YouTube's video servers. We don't host, store or keep copies of any videos, and we keep no record of what you download. There is no account, no sign-up and nothing to install.
Personal, non-commercial use
The service is meant for everyday personal use, like keeping a cooking tutorial on your tablet for the kitchen, saving a workout for the gym or loading a lesson onto a phone before a trip with weak signal.
You may not use the site, or files saved with it, for commercial purposes such as selling, redistributing, publicly broadcasting or building another product or service on top of ours.
Copyright and your responsibility
You are fully responsible for what you choose to download. Only save videos and audio when you have the right to do so. YouTube has its own terms of service, and you are expected to respect them, along with the copyright laws that apply where you live.
If you are unsure whether you may save a particular video, the safest choice is not to download it, or to ask the creator first.
- Videos you created and uploaded yourself
- Content in the public domain
- Content published under a licence that allows downloading, such as some Creative Commons licences
- Content the copyright owner has given you permission to save
Things you must not do
To keep the service working fairly for everyone, you agree not to misuse it. We may block access for anyone who does.
- Use bots, scripts or other automated tools to send large numbers of requests
- Try to overload, disrupt, hack or get around the site's security
- Use the site for anything illegal, including copyright infringement or piracy
- Resell, rent out, frame or repackage the service as your own
- Download content in a way that harms creators or breaks YouTube's terms
No affiliation with YouTube or Google
YouTube to MP4 is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC, and the name is used here only to describe what the tool works with.
Third-party content
Every video and audio track you see through the tool belongs to its creator or rights holder, not to us. We don't review, control or take responsibility for that content, including its accuracy, quality or suitability.
The site also relies on outside services, such as Cloudflare for hosting and security and Google Analytics for anonymous visit statistics. Those services follow their own terms and policies.
Our own content and design
The text, layout, design and code of this website belong to YouTube to MP4. You may share links to our pages, but you may not copy, republish or reuse our content or design without written permission.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without any promises. We work to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee that every video will be available or that every download will succeed.
Some videos may not work at all. Private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos may fail, and live streams that are still running can't be saved. For a playlist link, only the single video in that link is processed. Changes on YouTube's side can also affect the tool without notice.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, YouTube to MP4 is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or not being able to use, the site. That includes lost data, problems with your device, interrupted downloads or any legal claims arising from content you chose to save.
Because the service is free and you decide what to download, you use it at your own risk.
Changes and availability of the service
We may update, change, pause or stop any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. Features and available formats may change, and the site may occasionally be offline for maintenance or because of issues outside our control.
Copyright complaints
We respect the rights of creators. Although we don't host any files, if you believe the tool is being used to infringe your copyright, please send us the details through the Contact page. Include the video link, a description of your work and a way to reach you. We review every report and act quickly.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be posted on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms, so it's worth checking back now and then.
If you have a question about these terms or anything else, please reach out through our Contact page and we'll be glad to help.
